When I'm inking sketches, I handle shading one of two ways. Sometimes, I use a set of Prismacolor greyscale markers. However, they're kind of cumbersome to carry around. The other way I handle shading is crosshatching, which works ideally with the fine-tip pens I favor. These two pieces are samples of the lator method. Because the actual pieces are 11"x17", I've included some detailed portion views so you can better see the crosshatching effects. I enjoy doing this kind of intricate penwork.
